The Roberston Homestead

For this feature in Neighbours of Qualicum magazine, I had the privilege of capturing the everyday rhythm of a family living close to the land on their 25-acre homestead. Much of our time was spent alongside their animals—walking through fields with their cows, feeding the goats and donkeys, and watching the chickens roam freely across the property. The goal was to showcase the deep connection this family shares with their animals and the land they steward.

We also highlighted Meghan’s beautiful wood-burning art—each piece inspired the nature and animals that surround her, infused with the same quiet, grounded energy found throughout their farm.

Caties Hot Dilled Beans

We made a short video to show something special — Catie jarring garlic scapes by hand in her little forest kitchen 🌿
Even though she’s in stores all over the Island, everything is still made in small batches, right here at home.
This is what local looks like.

Liǧʷiłdax̌ʷ TOURISM GUIDE
In Partnership with the Liǧʷiłdax̌ʷ Nation and the city of Cambell River

This project was created for a printed tourism guide highlighting Campbell River — its landmarks, natural spaces, and cultural significance. I was brought on to photograph key locations across the region, including over 20 totem poles and several well-known nature spots. The goal was to capture the feeling of each place — not just what it looked like, but what it felt like to stand there. From the carved history in each totem to the quiet stillness of the forest trails, the work was about showing Campbell River as both a destination and a living story. Most locations were photographed over two days, with a final edit delivered for both print and digital use. These images now help represent Campbell River to visitors from around the world.

A Special thank you to the Elders, Chiefs, the Liǧʷiłdax̌ʷ Research Centre, and  FUSEHUB for putting this guide together trusting me to tell this story visually.

 LOW TIDE SESSIONS

Jesse Epp

Jesse is a local musician who writes and plays guitar. If you've ever been to the qualicum beach farmers market you have probably seen him playing. He also spends a lot of time at the beach, so that’s where we shot — no setups, just him in a space that’s part of his routine. Nothing was staged. I followed him as he played, walked, and sat with the ocean nearby — the same way he often writes music. The goal was to keep it honest. I think we nailed it

Rock Creek Fall Fair

The Rock Creek Fall Fair is a long-running event that brings together farming, food, music, and community in the Boundary region of British Columbia.

I was invited to document the fair across a weekend — capturing the rhythm of the grounds as they filled with locals and visitors. From rodeo events and livestock barns to food trucks and 4H competitions, the aim was to show the fair as it really is: energetic, local, and rooted in tradition.

The footage and stills were used by organizers for marketing and social media, with a focus on authenticity and local pride.

SHOCKWAVE SPECIALISTS INC.

Shockwave therapy is a non-invasive treatment that uses acoustic pressure waves to target pain and promote healing in muscles, tendons, and joints. It's commonly used to treat chronic injuries, inflammation, and mobility issues — helping patients recover without surgery or long-term medication.

Shockwave Specialists Inc. in Qualicum Beach brought me in to create a series of photos and social media content that showcased both their treatment process and the calm, modern aesthetic of their clinic.

The goal was to give people a sense of what to expect — from the hands-on care to the welcoming environment — and to help build a consistent visual identity across their website and digital platforms.
